Hip & Groin Physiotherapists
Andrew is currently employed as the head physiotherapist at St. Kilda Football Club, a position he has held since 2007. Privately, he works at Lifecare Sports Medicine Centre and Melbourne Orthopaedic Group in association with several of Melbourne’s leading surgeons and sports physicians.
He is also a clinical supervisor on the Master’s program at La Trobe University.
Over the last 20 years, Andrew has developed a special interest in hip and groin pathology having worked in both a clinical setting and within the elite sporting environment with Melbourne Victory, Adelaide Thunderbirds, SACA Redbacks, V8 Supercars, triathlon and athletics. Andrew has developed an evidence based assessment and treatment model for pathology related to the hip and groin. He also enjoys treating problems related to lower limb biomechanics and muscular injury, in addition to knee, ankle and foot pathology.

Alesha is a titled Sports Physiotherapist who currently works privately at Lifecare Sports Medicine Centre and the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group. In addition to her clinical commitments, Alesha is a physiotherapist with Football Federation Australia (FFA), working with the Matildas and the junior representative national teams.
Prior to linking with FFA, Alesha gained considerable sporting experience with Cricket Victoria as the Head Physiotherapist of the VicSpirit and previously with Cricket Australia in the national talent camps. Alesha’s particular interest is in the treatment of lower limb injuries and in several years working alongside leading orthopaedic surgeons and sports physicians, Alesha has gained valuable experience and insight into the treatment of hip and groin conditions.

Michael is the lead physiotherapist for Melbourne Victory Football Club – National Premier League & National Youth League. He also works as a research assistant at La Trobe University’s Sports and Exercise Medicine Research centre where he is assisting on the FORCE project, a study looking into hip and groin pain in Soccer and AFL.
Since joining The Hip & Groin Clinic he has been working closely with Melbourne’s leading orthopaedic surgeons and physicians to provide conservative management or post-surgical rehabilitation for various conditions. He hails from New Zealand where he graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2008. He has spent his career working in a variety of settings across New Zealand, Scotland, England and New South Wales which have helped him hone his sports injury and musculoskeletal skills.
In addition to complex hip and groin pathology, Michael has particular experience working with adolescent athletes, developing college sports programmes, academy screenings, and working with elite athletes. Other sports experience includes all codes of football, basketball and netball. Outside of the clinic he is an avid soccer player and runner.
